Per request, we've removed the log-in form from the home page sidebar along with the module containing the Bucharest logo.
All five logos have been moved underneath the main content area. Within this area are four boxes. The first contains the Bucharest logo. The second contains both the Atlantic Council and Euro Atlantic Council logos. The third contains the ATA and YATA logos while the fourth box has been created to house various additional sponsorship logos. These logos will be controlled through the "self promo" management area found in NEATO.

Many factors were taken into consideration when developing the look and feel of the Young Atlanticist Summit home page layout. First and foremost was to attract the attention of a specific demographic (and retain that attention). We also felt keeping a conservative element would also coincide with the overall subject matter.
By simply using a combination of both rounded corners and sharp edged rectangles, Studio4Squared was able to successfully blend specific elements which are proven to be geared towards both needs: a younger demographic would of course require a youthful, inventive, and flexible appearance while the specific subject matter would typically call for a professional, business, trustworthy approach.
The upper portion of the site contains an abstract representation of different ocean waves coming together. This abstraction spans across the header graphic, the main navigation, the breadcrumb area, and just behind the "self promo" area.
The abstract waves were designed specifically to represent different elements coming together to work as a unified whole (to play off of the word "Atlanticist" which of course means "...cooperation between Western Europe and the U.S."). This design element also emits a fresh and youthful appearance geared toward the targeted demographic.
Within the top header graphic are the logotype for the Young Atlanticist Summit as well as making use of the additional white space by including a search feature to the right side of the bar. This will allow visitors to do searches which will show results of their queries specifically within the Young Atlanticist Summit site.
Just below the header graphic is the main navigation. We've truncated one of the links in order to consolidate space and have place a couple items beneath as articles or callouts.
Beneath the main navigation is the area for breadcrumbs. This is a dynamically generated list of links showing the path users have visited. In this instance, we only see the link for "HOME" because we are at the starting point. After clicking on the link for "ABOUT US", visitors would then see "HOME > ABOUT US" listed within the breadcrumbs.
Just below the breadcrumb area is the "self promo". We've provided six screenshots of the same home page, each showing a different image within the "self promo" area. We've limited the text shown to just one example ("Preparing Young Adults for Tomorrow"). However, this text can be changed for each image if necessary. The order these images appear in can be controlled through NEATO. Also, additional sets can be created at a later date. Sets can be turned on or off or set to appear sequentially together all through NEATO.
Below the "self promo" area is where the main content would appear on the home page. We've shown how two articles could be displayed, "Our Mission" and "Live Video Feed". None of the content displayed on this page represents the final content of course (as you can see the text is "greeked" within the articles). By clicking on the link titled "CLICK HERE TO READ MORE...", visitors will be taken to a new page where they can read the remaining text (and additional images if needed) for the "Our Mission" article. We've shown the live video player on the home page in our example here, but this can be intro text instead with the "CLICK HERE TO READ MORE..." link underneath as well - taking users to a second page to view the player. Another option could be to have the player open in a small pop-up window.
At the bottom of the page is a footer area displaying copyright information as well as a duplicate of the main navigation. This allows visitors to quickly access another area of the site without having to scroll to the top of the page should the visitor be viewing an article which in relatively lengthy.
In the right hand column of our layout, we've shown a module which displays the latest videos uploaded by the community of users. This is actually a screenshot spliced into the home page layout from our test server where we've already built a community portal - complete with individual blogging and video sharing capabilities.
One the home page layout is approved, Studio4Squared will design the sub page look and feel (based off of the approved home page layout). One the sub page layout is approved, we can then begin coding the site and have the basic foundation ready for content entry.
