IE Bug Fixed
Thursday, 05 February 2009

ie_fixed.jpgThe problem being experience by Internet Explorer users who try to view our horizontal and vertical sliders has been fixed.  With the release of Internet Explorer 8 for Windows, users will now be able to visit their favorite sites with fewer bugs (they'll be seeing the Web as the rest of the Internet browsing community has been seeing it for years)!

Studio4Squared does not intend to come up with a workaround for previous versions of Internet Explorer since upgrading is free to everyone.  However, we will hold off on implementing the combination of both vertical and horizontal sliders onto any client sites until adoption of the new browser has become more widespread.

If you are experiencing any problems with our Web site (or with others for that matter) that you do not experience in other browsers, you may want to upgrade Internet Explorer on your machine.  Remember, it's free.

IE7 Bug UPDATE 2
Monday, 22 December 2008
neutral_box-top.png

Well, we have been continuing to figure out how to get around the limitations of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.  The solution we've implemented is currently 98% successful.  It's that other 2%, making it work 100% perfectly in IE7 that's proving to be extremely tricky to say the least.

Virtually every browser out there renders our sliders and horizontal scrollers absolutely perfectly.  We're going to set this issue aside for the holidays and come back to it in the new year.  Until then, we hope you're using a proper browser to experience the Internet as it should be - we highly recommend Firefox.  But we also recommend Opera, Safari, Camino, Flock, iCab, or even Shiira.

IE7 Bug UPDATE
Friday, 19 December 2008
neutral_box-top.png

Well, we've managed to squash about 80% of that bug in Internet Explorer 7 with some pretty bizarre hacks and modifications (all through CSS).  The horizontal sliding sections are now correctly being cropped in IE7.  However, as you open and close the sliders, the scrolling sections are still causing some odd rendering issues.

The sliders, by themselves, work perfectly across the board.  The horizontally scrolling sections, when by themselves, also work perfectly across the board.  ...but put the two together (as we've done on our site), and IE7 begins to struggle.  Well, we'll keep at it and hopefully be able to modify the code ourselves to the point where IE7 renders our pages just like all the other browsers out there do by default.
